Eligibility

Before you apply.

RRC is interdisciplinary — every major and classification is welcome to apply. These are the current baseline requirements.

  • Current UTSA student

    Any major, any classification.

  • Minimum 3.2 GPA

    Verified during the application process.

  • Resume submission

    Submitted with your application and reviewed before rolling interview invitations.

  • Rolling interview

    Invitations are extended after application and resume review.

Meeting minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee admission.

RRC admits a limited number of members through rolling review. Every applicant meeting the baseline requirements is evaluated on the substance of their application, resume, and interview.

Selection process

Five stages.

Every candidate is evaluated against the same criteria at every stage, with interviews and admission decisions made on a rolling basis.

  1. Application

    A written application covering your academic record, the opportunities you are pursuing, and what you want to develop. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

  2. Resume Review

    Officers review your resume against the standard RRC holds members to — structure, specificity, and whether accomplishments are stated in measurable terms.

    • Room to develop with coaching

  3. Rolling Interview

    Selected applicants are invited to interview on a rolling basis before RRC board members, with field-specific or technical questions where appropriate.

    • Field-specific or technical reasoning where applicable
    • Response to follow-up and correction

  4. Evaluation

    Board members evaluate every candidate against the same criteria across all stages, so decisions are comparable rather than impressionistic.

  5. Rolling Decision

    Admission decisions are released on a rolling basis after board evaluation. Selected members confirm their commitment before the cohort begins.

Selection is competitive, but the process is designed to identify students who will do the work — not students who already know the material. Field-specific and technical questions are asked only where they are relevant to what you are recruiting for.

Expect this to take about twenty minutes. Written answers matter more than length — officers read for specificity.

    Members are expected at sessions and mock interviews. Attendance matters because preparation compounds only if it is consistent.

    Members are expected to act on the feedback they receive — revised resumes, repeated interview practice, and follow-through on recruiting conversations.
  • Eligibility
    Open to all UTSA students, any classification and any major, who meet the baseline requirements and are pursuing competitive opportunities.

Application responses are used only for RRC selection. They are not shared with employers.

Officer positions are available through a separate application and are open to upperclassmen (juniors and seniors) only.

Questions

What applicants ask.

Is RRC only for business majors?
No. RRC is interdisciplinary and open to students from every UTSA major. Members pursue internships, full-time roles, graduate school, and professional programs including medical school. Competitive recruiting rewards the same fundamentals across fields.
Do I need previous internship experience to be selected?
No. RRC selects for direction, work ethic, and coachability. The organization exists to build skills members do not arrive with.
What are the minimum requirements?
You must be a current UTSA student with a minimum 3.2 GPA, submit a resume for review, and complete an interview if invited by RRC board members. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee admission.
What happens in the interview?
Invited applicants interview before RRC board members on a rolling basis. Expect behavioral questions, and field-specific or technical questions where they are relevant to what you are recruiting for. You are evaluated on reasoning and response to follow-up, not on already knowing every answer.
How many members are selected?
Pending. Replace with the confirmed cohort size once the board finalizes capacity. Do not publish a number that has not been decided. (content pending confirmation)
Does RRC guarantee an internship or job?
No, and no organization honestly can. RRC commits to preparation, access, and structure. Outcomes are reported only once they are real and verified.
